ARCHER final meetingThe ARCHER final meeting will be held on 21 and 22 January 2015 at NRG in Petten, The Netherlands. 2nd ARCHER EUROCOURSE
We are pleased to announce the second ARCHER EUROCOURSE, which will be held from 19-20 January 2015 in Petten, The Netherlands, just before the final project meeting. As we have seen from the poll on the student engagement within ARCHER, a large number of students have been or are involved in ARCHER, so we kindly ask you to please spread the word and send them to this course. In parallel to the course a poster contest for students will be organised with prizes for the best 3 posters. The EUROCOURSE is also open to young engineers, so please also give them the opportunity to participate. In our opinion, bringing together students, young engineers and experts will broaden the HTR technology community. It will also help to transfer the knowledge from the “oldies” to the young generation. Further below is the preliminary course programme as well as the rules and prizes for the poster contest. We thank you in advance, Nicolai and Walter Agenda Download the draft agenda here > RegistrationTo register for the course please send an email to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The ARCHER project is pleased to announce the first EUROCOURSE in Prague, Czech Republic, on 21-24 May at the Technical University. It will cover all main aspects of HTR technology as well as the main findings in ARCHER. The course is for students, PhD students and young professionals, free of charge. The preliminary agenda, flyer and poster are available for download. This first seminar aims to provide a basic overview of HTR designs, differences with other reactor types and, in the view of the inherent safety features of HTRs, the main phenomena of core physics and thermal hydraulics in the core. Fuel and material and components and the use of HTRs in cogeneration to avoid greenhouse gas release will be covered. The course includes three days of lectures mainly given by experts members in the project and a technical visit on the fourth day at the research center in REZ. A poster competition will run parallel to the course. Participants are encouraged to present a poster related to the V/HTR technology. The second course is planned for summer 2014.
